Tashi Dave Williams - Chief Instructor 
Tashi Dave Williams – Chief Instructor

 

Experience:
Training since 1996, bringing decades of Ju‑Jitsu knowledge to the club.
Grades & Titles:
4th Dan (Yondan), awarded in 2023
Title of Tashi awarded by Soke Brian Walsh in 2019
Background:
Started his martial arts journey at the Budokan Ju‑Jitsu School under Master Mick Walsh, whose  effective no frills style continues to shape his teaching.
Teaching Style: 
High‑energy, hands‑on sessions that build confidence, sharpen fundamentals, and develop practical, real‑world skills.
Training Highlights:
Being taught by Master Mick Walsh was a major milestone in my Ju‑Jitsu journey.
Another highlight was Shihan Paul joining the club.
I’m also proud to see my students progress through the ranks and become instructors themselves

Experience:
Over 40 years in Ju‑Jitsu
Background:
Trained for more than three decades at the Lowlands Ju‑Jitsu Club in Liverpool under Soke James Blundell, a student of Professor Jack Britten.
Grades & Titles:
5th Dan earned at Lowlands
Awarded the title of Shihan by Soke Brian Walsh
6th Dan awarded by Soke Walsh in 2021
Training Highlights:
Has travelled widely to train and teach with leading martial artists. 
Role at the Club:
A trusted deputy to Tashi Dave and a valued senior member of the coaching team.
Qualifications:
MAIUK Level 1 – Martial Arts Instructor UK Coaching.
DBS checked, First Aid certified, and safeguarding trained.
 

 

 

Lee Churchyard Sensei - Shodan

Lee Churchyard – Instructor

 

Experience:
Training and teaching at the club for seven years 
Grade:
1st Dan (Shodan)
Teaching Style:
Focused, practical sessions that build solid basics, confidence, and real‑world ability.
Qualifications: 
DBS checked, First Aid certified, and safeguarding trained.
Role:
A committed member of the coaching team, supporting students as they progress through their Ju‑Jitsu  journey.
